This year’s 57th annual
Annapolis Rotary Crab Feast beckons Friday evening with a tasty smorgasbord of 360 bushels of jumbo crabs, 3,600 ears of corn, 75 gallons of crab soup, 1,800 hot dogs, 150 pounds of beef barbecue.
More than 2,400 people are expected at the all-you-can-eat feast, which runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
The feast’s popular Silent Auction will feature items including a vintage 1978 Cadillac, a Navy football helmet signed by famed quarterback and Naval Academy alumnus Roger Staubach, a book of poetry autographed by Robert Frost and fine art.
Annapolis area art galleries, photographers, haberdasheries, hotels, restaurants and other businesses donated nearly 200 items for the Silent Auction.
Try your luck with a $5 ticket for the Crab Feast raffle, with a $1,000 first prize, $500 second prize and $250 third prize.
You can also buy baked goods, Crab Feast T-shirts and Crab Feast Mania, A Cookbook for Crab Lovers, filled with delicious recipes.

Tickets for the crab feast cost $45 for adults and $15 for children 6 to 12. Children under 6 are free with a paying adult.
You can buy tickets and the crab cookbook and place a silent auction bid at the Annapolis Rotary Club web site. Tickets also may be purchased from any Rotary Club member or by calling ticket chairman Bill Davis at 800-723-8860.
Tickets are available at the door, but advance purchase is recommended to avoid waiting in line at the Crab Feast. ---------------------
