 Bus Information
Wherever you want to go, one of the local buses can usually take you there.
  • To get around within the city, or to ride the commuter bus to Kent Island, ride Annapolis Transit.
  • To get to Washington, D.C. or Baltimore, ride MTA buses.
  • For points beyond, ride Trailways.

 Annapolis City Transit
The City of Annapolis operates its own public transit system for getting around town. For detailed information about routes and schedules, click here.

It is often difficult to find parking downtown. The city encourages visitors to park at the Navy Stadium parking lot (take exit 24 from Route 50) and ride the free trolley shuttle downtown.

 MTA Buses
The Maryland Mass Transit Administration (MTA) operates several commuter bus routes. Click here for the MTA main page, or call 1-800-543-9809 for more information.
  • MTA Route 14 travels from Church Circle in Annapolis north to the Glen Burnie Light Rail Station and into downtown Baltimore. This route operates daily.
  • MTA Routes 921 and 922 are operated privately by Dillon's Bus Service. 921 provides express service from Annapolis to the New Carrollton Amtrak and Metro station. 922 is a commuter bus between Annapolis and Washington, D.C. Both routes operate five days a week, excluding holidays.

 Greyhound/Trailways Buses
Trailways recently established new service for Annapolis. The station is temporarily located at the City's Department of Transportation at 308 Chinquapin Round Road (click for map).

The bus service operates seven days a week. Its service in Annapolis is provided only on a lay-over basis. The Department of Transportation serves as the ticket outlet. For information on Washington routes, call 202-289-5160. For Baltimore information call 410-752-1393.

To contact Trailways call 1-800-271-2222 or click here for the web site.
