During this festive 1 and 1/2 hour walking tour you will learn about the origin of many holiday customs. From the significance of evergreens, yule logs and even Christmas trees to the song “sing a song of sixpence, pocketful of rye…” there is no better way to get into the holiday spirit than a glimpse into what made Christmas what it is today. After your 1-hour walk through the historic district, enjoy a guided visit inside the Hammond Harwood House.
Your Candlelight Stroll guide will lead you on a half hour tour of the beautifully decorated house. Garden Clubs around the region decorate the house for the holidays each year with a different theme. You’ll end the tour in the home’s seasonal gift shop and greenery sale.
