Since the beginning of roads and population of towns, Main Streets have been revered as significant and cherished for its bustling activity. The same is true of downtown Annapolis’s Main Street–it’s loved for the prospective activities, adventures, and good shopping finds tucked away there. One great find on Main Street is art. There are several galleries from which to choose, but this time, we are focusing on the one with the name so honored to have “Main Street” in it: Main St. Gallery.

Presently, the gallery is holding an exhibit that spotlights the works of Sam Dixon and William C. Wright. The exhibit goes through July. Other pieces of art available in the gallery include some from artist and owner of Main St. Gallery, Margaret Lee, like the coastal landscape above, entitled “This Way.” The works of Lee Alban, who has several paintings of Annapolis and photographs of wildlife, are also featured in the gallery. Sam Dixon exhibits his watercolor art of wine bottles, orchids, and sailing in faraway places. William C. Wright shows off a mix of vivid and neutral colors in his oil paintings. Kirk McBride provides several Eastern Shore inspired works like “Beach Day,” “The Clam Shack III,” and “At the Dock in the Morning.” Finally, Janice Antinucci’s impressionist works of gardens and vast landscapes are available at Main St. Gallery. There are plenty more artists proudly represented at the gallery; see their work at the gallery or online at http://mainstreetfineart.com.

This is just another gallery with exceptional taste and desire to represent local art. Support Main St. Gallery’s endeavors to grow interest in art and foster love for local artists while doing so. Catch the current exhibit before it ends! Even if you miss out, the gallery usually features the works of two artists in shows every month or so. See the site above for upcoming shows.
