St. Patrick’s Day in Annapolis is celebrated with optimal fanfare and family fun for all, all weekend long (and even the weekend before). Restaurants, hotels, shops, and community organizations host events that feature live music, traditional Irish fare, and even a little friendly competition, providing optimal fun for everyone — even those without a drop of Irish heritage. We’re all Irish in Annapolis this March, so deck yourself out in green and turn out to any of these festive celebrations. We’ll start with the city’s headline event:
Downtown, March 10, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
2019 marks the 7th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Annapolis, and this year it’s a full day of fun (running from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.) with a new family festival before and after the parade. Shamrock the Dock from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with entertainment, face painters, food, and libations, catch the parade at 1 p.m., then enjoy more Shamrock the Dock festival fun at 3:30 p.m. featuring more food and face painters, plus photo screens and music from Dublin 5.
March 9, 12-5 p.m.
The Annual Green Beer Races offer a chance for the community to rally behind Irish-themed friendly competition. Everyone is invited, including kids and the dog. In a nutshell, this event is the chance to drink beer and celebrate St. Patrick’s in an unconventional, active way.
